Good music is something that everyone loves to come across. Good music with heart, meaning, and soul is an even better discovery, and one that is rare these days.  I am so happy that I came across Cathy Heller’s music, and that I have the chance to share her story with all of you.

About Cathy Heller

Cathy Heller is a 32-year old indie/acoustic rock musician that currently lives in Los Angeles, California.  She started playing piano at the age of four, and was able to benefit from her mom’s piano teaching experience.  She was always classically trained with piano, but found herself wanting to play different genres of music.  In addition to piano and singing, Cathy also loves to play the ukulele.  It is refreshing to see that there is such a wide variety of talents in her musical abilities.

Cathy Heller’s Music

Her music has a very quirky and chill feel to it.  I have yet to hear a song that I dislike, and the music just seems to put me at a good state of mind. There are no gimmicks with her music; it is just a reflection of raw talent and emotion.

Inspiration

One aspect of my conversation with Cathy really stood out to me.  While explaining to me her inspirations to play music and share it with others, Cathy said,

“It is just so much fun.  I love playing live and I love performing in general.  Playing music is the one thing in life that I want to do, because it makes me so happy.  It is a way that I can make the world a little more joyful and a way to lift people up.  It is like Disneyland to me.”

This is exactly what you want to hear from a musician.  As a fellow musician myself, I appreciate how Cathy wants her music to impact others, and this makes listening to her tracks that much more enjoyable.

On the Rise

Cathy Heller’s “Count on Me” has been featured on ABC Family’s “Switched at Birth,” and her song “Turn the Sunshine On” has been featured on an NBC promotion.  Her song called “Gonna Be Happy” will be featured on an episode of “One Tree Hill” that will be airing on Wednesday, March 28th at 8:00 EST.  With recognition from prominent television shows such as these, it is clear that Cathy Heller is a musician on the rise for big things now and in the future.
