I love downloading new music; it’s like getting a gift for your birthday. It’s fresh and exciting, and there is so much out there to listen to. Sometimes we can get this music through friends or maybe from the radio months after the music is released. However, what about that music that is lesser known? Is there anyway to uncover that gift? Good news–there is a revolutionary option that is right at your disposal. Folks, meet TuneTap–our new music revolution.
TuneTap was founded by students Josh Leider and Jake Metzger about two years ago. It is a music blog that is dedicated to all genres ranging from alternative to folk, house to country, mashups to pop, and much more. They started this website to satisfy wants of the general public that they know exist — to provide an outlet to download music that is already out there. Some may say this promotes piracy, but co-founder Josh Leider says TuneTap does anything but that. Says Leider,
“It’s not piracy because there is no direct download. There are always links to other downloads (if there is download link). There is a section on the website that gives the chance for artists to speak up if they are unhappy. We are all for promoting legal music, but modern internet has revolutionalized. Spreading artists music that are up and coming, and getting music out for free is way to do that now. We are hoping that music industry turns into free open space.”
TuneTap is always looking for new writers, bloggers, and music enthusiasts. Feel free to send an email to JLeider@TuneTap.com if you are interested. Take a few minutes to check out their website. Your music life will never be the same again.
