Corey Gray artist music youtube

I am starting a new feature here on Consider that will appeal to the many music lovers out there. There are so many artists out there who begin to grow their fan base and their credibility through YouTube, and I want to be able to share these artists with all of you.  Most of these artists record videos of their original music. However, it is a pleasure to see the creative spin they put on a song when they do a cover. Some of these versions may be even more appealing than the original.

For today, I will be featuring an artist named Corey Gray.  A friend of mine showed me a video of his, a cover of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away,” and his rendition is amazing.  I am finding myself preferring it to the original, and many others have seemed to agree. Corey first began playing the drums when he was 10 years old and it wasn’t long until he picked up guitar, piano, and bass. He was the drummer in his first band, The Gym Class Dropouts, and played gigs around the Dallas area. He then stepped out of the background and began performing his original music solo at local coffee shops. Now, he shares his music online and performs at clubs and other local venues in North Hollywood.

I hope you enjoy this new feature, and feel free to share any comments, concerns, suggestions, or other thoughts you may have in the comments section below.
