The annual music festival Coachella, held in Indio, CA, is about to take music festivals where they have never gone before. After being unable to accommodate ticket demand last year, coordinators got together to see just how big this phenomenon actually was.
After music festival junkies heard that the festival was expanding to two consecutive weekends in a row, they have waited by their computers eagerly to see the much-anticipated line-up. And after viewing the three-day line-up myself, I was absolutely blown away. With headliners Dr. Dre., Snoop Dogg Radiohead and the Black Keys, along with over 100 other incredible bands, this festival surely won’t disappoint. In fact, it will change the expectations of music festivals from here on out. Not only will the festival be held over two consecutive weekends, but the lineup is also identical for both weekends, an incredible feat in itself. When this idea was first revealed, many thought it impossible to book big names two weekends in a row, and doubted the success of the plan. But those that had faith and bought their pre-sale tickets were very much rewarded. There is already a limited number of tickets left for the first weekend, which will be sure to sell out soon after they go on sale this Friday. To say the least, fans are freaking. Some have already paid $1,300 for VIP passes (which doesn’t include parking passes or camping) and their website is constantly crashing as its servers can’t handle the traffic flow.
For those who are expecting to attend this year, make the absolute best of this extraordinary experience. And for those who cannot make it, don’t worry, music festivals can only get better from here on out.
