It’s finally here, the last game of the football season. What could be more appropriate than hosting our 108th meeting with the Ohio State, ranked by ESPN as the greatest North American sports rivalry? Though our last win in the series was in 2003, our boys coming off of their most complete performance of the season– a beat down of Big Ten newcomer, Nebraska– puts us at a great place to take on the Buckeyes, and quite possibly to get into a BCS bowl game.

This season for Michigan is an impressive one (9-2, 5-2 Big Ten), especially after the difficulties they overcame last season with Rich Rodriguez. This year’s seniors can especially empathize, for they were recruited by Lloyd Carr, rode a bumpy road with Rodriguez for three seasons, and now leave the program under Michigan Man, Brady Hoke. Senior center David Molk expands:

“It’s amazing– especially when looking back how everything transpired from Lloyd to Rich to now Coach Hoke. It’s amazing how much this game can change. I came in here at Michigan thinking Coach Carr was going to be here forever, but obviously that’s not true. How everything develops, and how everything transpires — it lies in a lot of variables, and … you can change and improve a team greatly. And we’ve done that.”

As for OSU, their season has shown a pitiful offense, currently 6-5 (3-4 Big Ten). The Bucks are sure to be distracted this Saturday, as the the speculation over who will replace interim coach Luke Fickell only continues to grow.

Regardless, both teams will show up and are sure to put on a spectacular show for us this Saturday. The streets of Ann Arbor will be flooded with Maize & Blue and will sweep away any red-shirted debris that comes in the way. And when we Wolverines do beat OSU, the noise from the Big House is sure to carry all the way down to Columbus. Rage on Wolverines, and cheer our team to victory. Go Blue!
