Pro Football Predictions (11.10.11)

All Things Consider — By on November 10, 2011 at 10:00 am

I know…I need to be getting at least more than half of these games correct in order to justify making the predictions every week.  Time for me to step it up this week.

Games This Weekend (And Monday)–Click here to see the games

Raiders at Chargers:  My pick of the Chargers last week against the Packers may have been a bit ambitious, but Carson Palmer and the Raiders will be a test that Philip Rivers and the Chargers can face.

Rams at Browns:  Ick.  This isn’t a pretty game.  I don’t even know whom to pick.  Uhhh…let’s go with the Rams who at least looked impressive a couple weeks ago against the Saints.

Broncos at Chiefs:  I like to hear that John Fox and the Broncos will have Tim Tebow running the option full time.  If this is true, it will be too much for the Chiefs to handle.

Cardinals at Eagles:  John Skelton or Kevin Kolb?  Doesn’t matter.  The Eagles are a better team than the Cardinals, even if the Eagles have underperformed.

Steelers at Bengals:  This is going to be a fun game to watch.  If the Bengals win, it is a statement game for them.  However, the Steelers will outperform the Bengals’ youth and inexperience.

Titans at Panthers:  With a home crowd and fewer mistakes by Cam Newton, the Panthers will take down an inconsistent Titans squad.

Redskins at Dolphins:  This game resembles the Rams vs. Browns game.  With Miami coming off of their first win, I’ll pick them to follow up with a win against a Redskins team that is falling apart week by week.

Texans at Buccaneers:  I’m liking the Texans team a lot as of late, and Josh Freeman hasn’t been leading the Bucs the way I thought he would be.

Saints at Falcons:  This is one of the tougher games for me to pick, but I have to go with Drew Brees and his Saints to come up bigger than Matt Ryan and his Falcons, even in Atlanta.

Bills at Cowboys:  After a loss last week, Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bills will have to play better in order to beat a decent Cowboys team.  This week I think they will.

Jaguars at Colts:  Eventually the Colts have to win…right?  Well, a chance at the underwhelming Jaguars is a perfect opportunity to do so.

Ravens at Seahawks:  This one is pretty easy for me.  The Ravens look great, and there is no reason that they should lose to the Seahawks, even outside of their home field.

Giants at 49ers:  That game against the Patriots looked identical to their Super Bowl win and has me jumping on the Giants’ bandwagon.  The 49ers look great themselves, but Eli Manning is playing at another level.

Lions at Bears:  I know, I’m biased.  I’m a Lions fan.  But why not pick the Lions?  They are 6-2 and coming fresh off of a bye week.  This will be a tough test against a Bears team that is playing great as of late, but I like the Lions to win this one.

Patriots at Jets:  I would usually pick the Patriots in this game, but the Jets defense is playing great, and the Patriots defense is not.  Tom Brady will have to compensate as always, but in the Jets’ home stadium, a complete effort will lead New York to victory.

Vikings at Packers:  The future for the Vikings doesn’t look half bad with Christian Ponder under center.  However, Aaron Rodgers is on a record breaking pace as he leads the undefeated Packers.  Green Bar, I’m sorry for picking you guys to lose last week.  I’m back on your side this week.

That’s all for now.  Feel free to comment with your full set of predictions for the games.
