Breaking news. Miley Cyrus smoked. Out of a bong. And it was salvia. Guess what else? She is eighteen-years-old and it’s legal.

Personally, I am not the biggest Miley enthusiast since I grew up during Disney Channel’s prime with Boy Meets World, Even Stevens and Smart Guy. But after watching the 2 minute and 36 second video of this  girl making a fool of herself, I actually found myself feeling bad for her. She didn’t show up to a red carpet event flashing the cameras or running around the clubs of L.A. strung out on coke. She was in a house, with what seemed to be her friends, trying something new (and legal) in a rather safe environment.

I think the press should be focusing on how Miley was sold out by one of her “friends.”  TMZ claimed that

“…it was shot by one of Miley’s friends –  and the theory is someone stole or copied the video from that friend’s camera.”

Watching the video, you will notice how adamant her “friend” is about documenting this momentous event, not to mention the fact that the camera never strayed from Miley’s face. To me it seems like a crazy coincidence that this girl left her camera just long enough for an anonymous bystander to copy the footage and send it to the media with impressive quality and sound. If I were writing the tabloids for the scandal, they would look a lot less like “Miley Partying a little too hard in the USA” and a lot more like “Miley should seriously consider reevaluating her friendships.”

  At least she didn’t pull a Michael Phelps are smoke weed! (despite the fact that salvia is easily 10x more dangerous)
