Here’s a helpful reading list for those of you who have been meaning to but just haven’t been able to brush up on the latest Supreme Court journalism on Stevens:
- Jeffrey Toobin wrote a post immediately reacting to the news. His profile of Stevens appeared in The New Yorker a few weeks back.
- Slate’s Dahlia Lithwick and Emily Bazelon have a shortlist of possible replacement candidates.
- Cass Sunstein had a profile in 2007 of Stevens.
- Daniel Foster at National Review has his own list.
- Speaking of National Review, the editors there are already thinking about how to block Obama’s replacement nominee.
- The New York Times report on Stevens’s announcement is a must-read.
- And of course, Talking Points Memo’s account is worth your time —the above image is from there.
- And if you want to get really technical, the American Bar Association Journal has a profile of Stevens.
