A Sculpture Of Three Boobalicious Women In A Hot Tub With An American President Wouldn’t Fly Here

Over in Spain a tradition of the Las Fallas festival is a display of satirical sculptures of public figures. Here is one of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi with three women  (look closely. There are three, I assure you) in a hot tub. The joke is based on Berlusconi infamous lecherous nature. You can see other sculptures at this Der Spiegel slideshow.

I’ve got to say, as I look through them I can’t imagine there being a similar just-chuckle-and-move-on reaction if these sculptures were in the States and garnered similar attention. People would be flailing their arms in a fury over this Obama as superman sculpture and everyone would get a earful about how this Berlusconi sculpture is too graphic. Somehow though the European response seems much more reasonable.
