Haitian Recovery Reaction

All Things Consider — By on January 28, 2010 at 12:32 pm

Here’s an interesting poll which found that Haitian Americans are critical of the Haitian government’s response to the earthquake but very happy with the U.S. government’s response:

A New America Media/Bendixen & Amandi poll of Haitians living in America found 63% disapprove of how the Haitian government has responded to the earthquake.
“The unhappiness runs so deep that a majority of Haitian Americans support the United Nations and the international community taking over Haiti’s day-to-day operations — at least until Haiti recovers from the catastrophe.”
Interestingly, 96% approve of the U.S. government’s response, slightly higher than the 88% approval of the U.N. response.
