Personally, the most unhealthy food I have ever eaten was in the public school system. Maybe the government should address health where they have the most control over it first. As much as I support healthy eating, the "fat tax" sounds like it is going to cause quite a stir. Lets take pactical measures to adress obesity before drastic ones.

Rather than add a tax the unhealthy foods, how about eliminating all sales taxes on unprocessed foods (meaning no taxes on fruits, vegetables etc). Incentives rather than fines.

When will you fascists stop your discrimination? What's next - send people with genes making them susceptible for obesity to extermination camps? Great plan. Even the promotion of the notion of this concept is absurd, and I condemn your entire staff for letting this trash spill into the hands of people looking for real intellectualism.

a $1 tax on fat is not gonna lower the price of salad by a dollar. Because after you apply a tax on fat, demand will go down so will tax revenue... even if all of this $$ was used to lower the price of healthy foods, it would still not lower the price to be comparable to that of what fatty foods used to cost. Hurting poor people in the long run.
... Leer másInstead of making food more expensive for the poor, maybe the government should consider subsidizing the cost of healthy foods with all the $$ they would supposedly save from health care.
